Our Mission
Welcome to the dedicated community of Lubbock citizens and veterans on a mission to honor the legacy of medal of honor recipient Lt. Col. George Andrew Davis Jr. As passionate advocates for justice and remembrance, we are committed to bringing his remains home, ending a decades long journey for closure.
Our Hero’s story
Lt. Col George A. Davis Jr. was a distinguished World War II and Korean War veteran who, on February 10th, 1952, valiantly engaged 12 Soviet MiG-15s while protecting allied fighter-bombers. Despite managing to shoot down 2 MiGs, his aircraft succumbed to a direct hit, spiraling out of control and crashing into a mountain, about 30 miles south of the Yalu River.
Lt. Col Davis’s remains were recovered by the Chinese and have since been housed in one of their museums as a war trophy. Our campaign aims to bring his remains home, where they rightfully belong, and ensure that he is laid to rest with the honor and respect befitting his sacrifice.
